CHRONIC PAIN - Pain Science Physical Therapy

Chronic Pain is pain that goes on (or recurs—comes and goes, comes and goes) for at least 3 to 6 months¹. New research in the past ten years has shown that pain is 100% produced by your brain as a response to a perceived threat². If something is happening in your body that your nerves and brain determine is “dangerous”, then you are going to experience pain. With chronic pain, a nerve or multiple nerves have become “sensitive” or too active and react very quickly to sensory information that may or may not be causing tissue harm.
