Dr. Melissa Snyder received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from University of Washington in 2021. Prior to studying at UW, she received her undergraduate degree from College of Santa Fe in New Mexico.
Dr. Snyder is a member of the APTA (American Physical Therapy Association) and the Foot, Ankle, and Pain special interest groups.
Before becoming a physical therapist, Melissa worked in technical theatre, events, and the audiovisual industry.
Melissa is originally from Denver, CO. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring the great outdoors with her husband and her dog. Every year, they do an annual backpacking trip together. Recently, they went to the Grand Canyon and the Triple Divide Pass in Glacier National Park. She also enjoys photographing their adventures.
When she’s not outside, Melissa likes crafting and updating her house. She played banked track roller derby for many years. Even though she’s retired from the game now, she still enjoys roller skating.
Dr. Snyder became a physical therapist because she loves treating patients. She finds helping people get back to the things they love to do with their lives very rewarding.
Dr. Snyder has been working at PSPT since September 15th, 2021. Dr. Snyder’s responsibilities include treating patients in the clinic, via Telehealth and in person at the clinic.
She chose to work here because she greatly appreciates the one-on-one patient care philosophy and the commitment to lifelong learning that PSPT has. She believes that patients return to PSPT because they truly feel like the PSPT team listens to them and hears their needs.
In the next five years, Dr. Snyder hopes to see PSPT expand into more locations because some of the patients have to travel quite a long way. It would be great for them to be able to get the quality of care they want in locations closer to their homes.
